BLUEBELL PLANTING AT BINCOMBE BEECHES

Volunteers gathered at Bincombe Beeches on Thursday morning to plant bluebell bulbs. Bincombe Beeches is a 12 acre local nature reserve, owned and managed by Crewkerne Town Council. Designated as a ‘site of specific scientific interest’ due to the abundance of wildlife found in the ancient woodlands and grass meadows, volunteer days take place once a month. Volunteers joining grounds supervisor Jason Fontana, groundsman Lewis Warren and apprentice groundsman Tyler Le-Fort on Thursday were: Mike and Sue Frackiewicz, Richard Pippard and Peter Cleary. Next months volunteer day takes place on Thursday November 17th, when the task to be undertaken is vegetation clearance and footpath maintenance. Volunteers meet from 10 am onwards at the entrance by Beechwood Drive. Helping hands are always welcome and refreshments are provided. For more information, please contact Crewkerne Town Council on Tel: 01460 74001.
