RIBBON CEREMONY TO OFFICIALLY OPEN POST OFFICE

A Ribbon Ceremony to officially open Crewkerne Post Office took place on Friday morning (October 21st), ten days after the new post office counter services were made available to customers, inside of Dailyz Tech in Market Street. Former post mistress Sandi Brocklehurst of the town centre branch when it was situated in East Street, was given the honour of cutting the ribbon. Sandi said: “It gives me great pleasure to declare the new Crewkerne post office officially open.” Sandi and her husband Malcolm, successfully ran the the town centre post office for 13 years, until their retirement in 2009. They were joined at Friday’s grand opening ceremony by their two sons Andy and Steve Brocklehurst. Refreshments were laid on by the new sub post master Steve Smith and his wife Teresa, the new sub post mistress. The champagne cork was popped by Malcolm Brocklehurst. Malcolm and Sandi were joined by family, staff and Chairman of Crewkerne Area Business Chamber, Brian Forster, in a toast to the new post office counter services in Crewkerne.
