CEILIDH TO CELEBRATE SECOND YEAR OF POM-POM DECORATIONS IN THE TOWN

A Ceilidh to celebrate the second year of pom-pom decorations in the town will take place on Friday April 28th at 7.30 pm at Maiden Beech Academy. The barn dance, which is suitable for all the family is being hosted by Creative Crewkerne and will follow on from the previous Saturday’s public unveiling of pom-pom decorations in Crewkerne. Last year over 6,000 pom-poms were made by people of all ages at regular craft workshops in pubs, cafes and other public venues. The wool decorations transformed shops, businesses and community buildings with their colourful displays. Organisers have invited householders to join in the fun this year, by decorating their homes and gardens, ready for the grand display of pom-poms on Saturday April 22nd.

Creative Crewkerne have booked ‘Banter’, a trio of talented musicians for the Ceilidh. Banter is a traditional sounding Ceilidh band with a twist, who perform at Folk Festivals throughout the UK. The trio consists of Simon Care on melodian, Nina Zella on piano and keyboards and Tim Waller on brass and percussion, who is also the dance caller. Tickets cost £10 per adult, family tickets for 2 adults and 2 children under 16 years of age cost £25. Tickets are available from Crewkerne LIC in the town hall and fromwww.wegottickets.com/creativecrewkerne.
