Committee members of Crewkerne Area Business Chamber discussed their next big event at their March meeting in Bilbys. Marketing, promotion and monitoring of results were high on the agenda, as members announced their guest speaker for April. Pam Knight of White Knight Marketing will deliver a presentation entitled ‘Competing With Other Shops & Businesses On The High Street’ on Wednesday April 19th at 6 pm in Bilbys in Market Street. The event is free to attend for CABC members and open to others who are interested at a cost of £5 per person.
Pam Knight runs a highly successful marketing company, based in Taunton. Her presentation will include promotion and the monitoring of results when changes and new ideas have been implemented. The marketing presentation for CABC is being billed as ‘more offline then online’, and promises to be an informative and interesting event for all businesses, particularly those who find themselves competing with chain stores and large corporations within the same vicinity.
Committee members also discussed the progress of the CABC’s workgroups that include Membership Recruitment, Communications Group and Business Development Centre. The business chambers’ monthly newsletter, introduced in February, was seen as a new innovative way of keeping CABC members up-to-date with news affecting business and trade in Crewkerne and the surrounding area, advising on follow ups of related issues previously raised, current status of the workgroups and diary of events planned for the coming months. Membership numbers of the CABC continue to increase as its work and benefits to local businesses reaches a wider audience, through an active Facebook page, other social media sites and local press channels.
