Third State Pizza Company Ltd (a franchise of the national Domino’s pizza brand) first applied for change of use from Class A3 (restaurant) to use Class A5 (hot food takeaway) in March last year. Various concerns raised on the position of the site, near a busy road junction between Blacknell Lane Trading Estate and South Street, the amount of parking for delivery drivers and customers and conservation issues with reference to the internal alterations and installation of extraction and ventilation equipment in a listed building, delayed the planning application. South Somerset District Council granted Listed Building Consent and Full Planning permission, with conditions in September 2016. The pizza company had previously stated that 35 jobs were expected to be created at their new hot food takeaway in the town. They are currently hiring for all positions at Domino’s Crewkerne.
