The Rotary Club of Crewkerne is inviting people to join them on Saturday April 22nd at Costa coffee, to find out who they are, what they do and to encourage the recruitment of new members. Rotarians will be happy to answer all of these questions between 10 am and 12 noon at Costas in Falkland Square. The Rotary Club of Crewkerne was formed in 1952 and granted its charter on June 25th 1953. Its first President and one of the club’s founding members Gary Harrison, was committed to forming a local Rotary Club in Crewkerne, to establish a fraternity with those of like minds, enjoy friendship and work together to improve the lives of others in the local community and at an international level, as part of a larger network of Rotarians.
In 2013, the Rotary Club of Crewkerne celebrated its Diamond Jubilee. This year marks the Centenary of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland, providing members with a good opportunity to celebrate its 100 year anniversary, by inviting others to join them and find out more about the club’s youth projects with local schools, fund-raising initiatives to support local charities and good causes and their involvement with global projects within the International organisation of Rotary.
