TV FILM CREW AT LAWRENCES AUCTIONEERS

A TV film crew visited Crewkerne when they filmed an episode of the Antiques Road Trip at Lawrences Auctioneers. Antiques experts Kate Bliss and Paul Laidlaw arrived at the salesroom to sell ten lots they had bought during their road trip in the region. Included in the items were a leather Gladstone bag, a Georg Jensen silver spoon, a leather case for a shotgun and a tiny Edwardian silver whistle. The popular BBC television show first aired in 2010 and the recent filming at Lawrences Auctioneers in Crewkerne is one of the episodes in the show’s Series 15. Richard Kay MA Director of the Picture Department at Lawrences said: “We understand that the TV programme will be shown in late July this year but we have not been given a date.” Profits made at the auction room by the two antiques experts, who start with an initial budget of around £200 each and are filmed over five programmes on their antiques road trip, will be donated to Children In Need.
