CREWKERNE MOURNS THE SAD LOSS OF A POPULAR GENTLE MAN

Crewkerne is today mourning the sad loss of a popular gentle man. David Carter, Headteacher at St Bartholomew’s School in Kithill, a keen sportsman and a dear friend to many, has passed away. Mr Carter’s friend and fellow runner Adrian East has paid tribute to Dave on theRebel Runners Facebook page and has kindly agreed for us to share the running group’s sentiments and photograph of Mr Carter: “We are extremely sad to hear the news about Dave Carter. Dave was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by everyone. His enthusiasm and determination in everything he did was an inspiration to everyone around him. Be it his running buddies, work friends, his pupils or football friends. Our thoughts are very much with his wife and family at this extremely sad time.”

St Bartholomew’s School will remain closed today and tomorrow. Friends of the School Association (FSA) apologises for any inconvenience that the school closure may cause and will provide parents with further news in due course. Paramedics and the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance were called to assist at the school yesterday late afternoon/evening.

The tragic news has left the people of Crewkerne in shock. Rebel Runners will be honouring their friend Dave’s memory in a fitting way over the next couple of weeks. Crewkerne Headlines And Topics would like to extend their condolences to the family of David Carter at this extremely sad and difficult time.
