BRASS BAND LOOKING FOR CORNET, TROMBONE AND TENOR HORN PLAYERS

Phoenix Brass Crewkerne is currently looking for cornet, trombone and tenor horn players. The band rehearses on Tuesday evenings between 8 pm and 10 pm. Anyone who is interested in joining the local brass band is asked to contact Lloyd on 01749345781.

Phoenix Brass recently performed at an open air event in Ilminster. A spokesman for the band said: “We had an enjoyable afternoon at the Ilminster Midsummer Experience. Thankfully the rain stayed away and we even had spells of blue sky and sun. It was a little breezy so there were lots of pegs required for the music sheets. There was a good crowd, who seemed to enjoy our performance. Thanks to Tom Lissett who stood in for our resident conductor, who was away on holiday. Thanks also to our other guests, who helped us to get a band together at short notice. We hope the band will be invited back again next year.”

Ilminster’s mid-Summer festival consisted of a Classic Vehicle Show and a Dog Show. Phoenix Brass Crewkerne are looking forward to their next big event, when they will be appearing in a charity concert for Cancer Research UK on Saturday July 22nd at 3 pm in Wadham School grounds.
