A Relay For Life band night, held at Merriott Social Club raised £410.00 for Cancer Research UK. The event was organised by team members of the Red Hot Chilli Steppers, one of the many local teams taking part in this years Crewkerne Relay For Life. The venue for the ‘rock-tastic’ evening of entertainment was offered free and rock band D-State were also happy to provide the live music, free of charge for the great cause.
Team captain of the Red Hot Chilli Steppers, Juliet Mckelvey said: “Myself and Clair Findlay decided to do a band night as a fundraiser for the Relay For Life. I approached my good friends Gary, Ross, Martin, Colin and Steven of D-State who agreed to provide the live music and everyone had a great time.” Crewkerne’s Relay For Life teams will be holding other events to raise money for Cancer Research UK, right up until the relay day at Wadham School in July. The combined total raised so far is well over £29,000 and regular updates on the results of fundraising activities are shown on the charity website fundraising totaliser on the page for Relay For Life Crewkerne.
