AN EVENING OF TOE TAPPING JAZZ

The Arcadia Jazz Band, inspired by the sound of Humphrey Lyttelton, comes to Crewkerne on Friday July 28th for a toe tapping evening concert at the Henhayes Community Centre. Arcadia is led by Clive Smith on trumpet and vocals, accompanied by Richard Steward on saxophone, Richard Llewellyn on guitar, Mike Sayers on bass, Mike Hurley on keyboard and Steve Barnett on drums.

Clive Smith was a personal friend of the late great jazz musician Humphrey Lyttelton. In the 1990s, Clive organised a concert with Humphrey and first class jazz singer Helen Shapiro at Rousdon near Seaton in Devon.

A ploughmans supper will be served before the Crewkerne concert in the Henhayes Centre. Tickets priced at £16 to include supper or £10 without supper, are available from the Henhayes Centre on 01460 74340 or via email to henhayescentre@btconnect.com The supper will be served at 6.30 pm and the concert will begin at 7.30 pm. All supper tickets must be booked in advance but tickets for the concert only, may still be available on the night at the door, depending on demand. Doors will open at 6 pm, there will be a licensed bar and a raffle and all proceeds will support the work of the centre.
