STEPS TAKEN TO REJUVENATE WEDNESDAY MARKET

In a recent meeting of Crewkerne Town Council, councillors agreed to take a number of steps to help rejuvenate the Wednesday market and attract both traders and shoppers. It was agreed to waive pitch fees for traders until the end of September. In addition, the market will extend its opening hours until 2 pm, to take advantage of lunchtime trade in the town. Mayor Ben Hodgson said: “The council is keen to diversify with the market and we will explore this initially with the addition of antiques but are keen to encourage a wide range of traders.” To join the Wednesday market or for more information, please contact the deputy town clerk Laura Gowers on 01460 74001.
