CINEMA GROUP HOPING HIGH ATTENDANCE CONTINUES

Crewkerne and District Community Cinema are hoping the high numbers in attendance at their first film of this year’s film season continues. Over 100 people attended the Film Crew’s September film Lion at Wadham School. This month’s chosen film The Olive Tree comes to the big screen on Friday October 13th at 7.30 pm. The quietly stirring Spanish fable finds ‘familial, regional and environmental grievances, inseparably tangled in its branches.’ Alma’s grandfather hasn’t spoken for 12 years, since the family’s ancient olive tree was sold. Their quest for its return, leads to unexpected consequences as Alma embarks on a heart over head course of action to regain the precious plant and return it to the family’s land where olive oil was previously lovingly produced for centuries in the ancestral grove.

The auditorium at Wadham School provides an excellent cinema venue with elevated seating, a wide screen that helps to bring the films to life, clear sound with headset assistance if required and accessibility to all floor levels. Membership of Film Crew costs £25 per year. Visitors can attend an individual film show, without needing to book in advance for £6. For membership enquiries, please contact Joan Clemow on 01935 822656.
