FREEMASONS GENEROUS DONATION TAKES RELAY FOR LIFE TOTAL TO OVER 60K

A generous donation of £1,000 from the Three Counties Freemasons has taken the total raised for Cancer Research UK in this year’s Relay For Life to an incredible £61,000. Event chair Louise Smith was presented with the cheque for £1,000 by the current Master of the Parrett & Axe Lodge Andrew Mackay at the Masonic Hall in Crewkerne. As the Crewkerne Relay For Life fundraising year came to an end, Louise explained how teams had held various events, which had contributed towards the grand total. Louise said that the Relay For Life committee had been overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community and that the total raised had far exceeded their expectations: “This is a significant amount of money which will help Cancer Research UK to continue their life saving work. The people of Crewkerne and surrounding areas have been amazing and should feel very proud.”

All those who have supported Crewkerne Relay For Life 2017 are invited to a wrap-up party on Friday November 10th at Haselbury Mill to celebrate the fundraising achievements. For tickets, please call 07939346422. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the 2018 committee, should contact CRUK Local Fundraising Manager Becky Trout on 07766102379.
