ROTARIANS PRESENT CHEQUE TO AIR AMBULANCE

The Rotary Club of Crewkerne has presented a cheque for £2,000 to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. The amount raised was the result of fundraising at a Rotary barbeque and proceeds from this year’s Dinnington Ride, which took place at Dinnington near Hinton St George on Sunday August 27th. Debbie Birtwisle of Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance received the generous donation from the president of the Rotary Club of Crewkerne Peter Lawrence, also in attendance at the cheque presentation were fellow Rotarians Peter Woodward and Nick Bacon.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is a life-saving charity that has to raise over £2 million each year, to keep it flying. The approximate cost per mission equates to £2,500. Every donation received helps them to continue saving lives across the two counties and they are extremely grateful to organisations, such as the Rotary Club of Crewkerne and others, for supporting them and generously donating to the charity.
