A coastal walk from Lyme Regis to Sidmouth by the branch manager of Hays Travel Crewkerne Brian Childs and apprentice travel consultant Neus Luna, raised money for the Memory Club at Henhayes Centre. For a month before the walk, the travel company in Market Street, held a competition for people to guess how long the walk would take, which raised £204.06. The walk took place in horrendous weather conditions at the beginning of September over a distance of 19.5 miles which took Brian and Neus 8 hours and 33 minutes.
Three prizes of a Hays Travel £50 voucher, a cheese hamper from Number 5 the Deli and a bottle of wine were presented to those who guessed the nearest to the actual amount of time taken. A cheque presentation was made recently by Brian and Neus to the Memory Club at Henhayes Centre.
The Memory Club takes place on Monday mornings at Henhayes Centre and is specifically for those suffering from memory loss or dementia. The group offers a variety of activities if requested or a quiet time reminiscing with trained staff and volunteers. Funds to assist the weekly group are always appreciated and Hays Travel in Crewkerne were pleased to be able to offer their support and make a generous donation from their fundraising walk.
