BARISTAS DRESS AS ZOMBIES FOR COSTA FOUNDATION

Baristas at Costa in Crewkerne dressed as zombies at the weekend as part of their fundraising for the Costa Foundation, during the Halloween themed Freak Week. Spooky activities for children ran from Thursday October 24th until the 31st and included a ghost hunt, critter cauldron, sugar spice and all things nice, guess the weight of the pumpkin, trick or treat tree, balancing a 20p on a lemon in a cup and a colouring competition. There were also scrumptious freshly picked apples on sale, donated by one of the coffee houses’ loyal customers.

The Halloween themed week raised £203.00 for the Costa Foundation that helps communities in coffee growing countries to grow and provides nursery school and high school education, extra curricular gender equality clubs, schools that enable adult learners to rejoin the education system and community spaces for the local farmers to learn new skills, improve quality of life and increase the yield of their coffee crops.

The weight of the pumpkin on show at Costa, donated by Manor Farm was 50lb, which was successfully guessed by Georgia Payne. There were 11 critters in the cauldron and the nearest guess to the correct answer was made by Edward Deakin. Georgia and Edward each won a small free drink and cake for two people. The featured photo shows baristas Will, Abby, Xenia and Stacey waiting to serve customers with their favourite potion.
