Following last year’s sell out Christmas concert, the South Somerset Community Choir are once again performing an evening of festive music on Friday December 8th in the Methodist Church. South Somerset Community Choir was formed in September 2016, it has over 60 members and sings a wide range of music from folk and classical to show songs and pop. The choir’s musical director is Jonathan Delbridge, a well known pianist, organist and choir director who runs a busy piano teaching business in Crewkerne and performs at venues throughout the UK.

The Christmas concert will include music from West Side Story as well as the famous Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck and All You Need Is Love by the Beatles. Seasonal favourites will feature Little Drummer Boy and Deck The Halls. There will also be an opportunity for the audience to join in with their favourite carols. Tickets are available from the Local Information Centre (LIC) in the town hall at £5 per person. Early booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. The concert will begin at 7.30 pm and refreshments will be provided during the interval. South Somerset Community Choir is open to all singers and there are no auditions. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings at the Speedwell Hall.
