PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN ENJOY PLAYING ON NEW EQUIPMENT AT OFFICIAL LAUNCH

Children from the Jigsaw Pre-School enjoyed playing on the new equipment at the Henhayes Playground at the official launch last week. The new play area on the moat was declared open by Crewkerne mayor Ben Hodgson who said: “We are delighted that this exciting project is now complete and that the equipment looks to be a great success with the children. I hope it continues to provide a lot of enjoyment for many years to come.”

The Henhayes working group which consists of Cllr Mike Best, Cllr Rusty Jackson, Cllr Paul Bradly, Mr Rick Canning, Mrs Jo Canning and Mrs Teresa Bond have worked hard to bring the tower, swing bridge and boat to the moat area, which completes the final phase of regeneration for the playground. Although the original date set for the launch had to be delayed, due to the tower and boat being smeared with mud and in a separate incident marked with graffiti, which needed to be professionally cleaned, the equipment looked in tip top form when it was officially opened and the youngsters tested it thoroughly and enthusiastically.

Crewkerne Town Council would like to thank South Somerset District Council for their generous grant funding support, in helping to bring this latest phase of the project at Henhayes Playground to fruition.
