GEOLOGY GROUP LEADER PRAISED FOR LEAVING NO STONE UNTURNED

Geology group leader Val Watson was praised for leaving no stone unturned in ensuring another successful year, when she was presented with a thank you bouquet at the group’s December meeting in St Bartholomew’s church hall. Despite the wintry weather conditions, 30 members attended the event, with group member Liz Randall making the presentation to Val, thanking her for organising such an interesting and enjoyable programme for the Crewkerne geology group which is part of Crewkerne & District U3A.

This year has been another bumper year for the U3A’s biggest group in Crewkerne and included visits to Wookey Hole caves, museums at Torquay and Kimmeridge and a cruise from Exmouth to Exeter. A presentation at the group’s December meeting, which included a bring and share lunch and photography display of the various talks and outings during 2017, was also made to Charlotte Rowntree for her work in keeping everyone up to date with the group’s activities and geological news.
