TWINNING ASSOCIATION BEGINS YEAR WITH FUNDRAISING AND GOOD FOOD

Crewkerne & District Twinning Association began this year with a Twin Pie lunch at Misterton WI Hall which was attended by 48 people and combined fundraising with socialising and good food. The association’s members were back at the dining table at the end of January when they met up with acquaintances and friends of the Chard Helmstedt Society at Cricket St Thomas Golf Club for their annual lunch and enjoyed catching up on twinning news.

Further fundraising events, which are open to non-members include a Coffee Morning on Saturday February 17th at Crewkerne Museum from 10 am until 12 noon, where coffee/tea and cake will be served for an entrance fee of £2.50 per person. On Saturday March 17th, a Quiz Evening will be held at the Tithe Barn in Merriott. The evening will include a Ploughmans’ Supper and cost £6 each.

Crewkerne & District Twinning Association are also looking forward to their twinning trip to Igny and Bures-sur-Yvette this year. The coach will leave Crewkerne on Thursday May 3rd and travel to France via the Euro Tunnel, returning home on Sunday May 6th. The cost of the twinning trip is £100 per person with free travel for children under 16 years of age, who are accompanied by a fare paying adult. A non-returnable deposit of £50 is required by February 17th to secure a place.
