CHEQUE PRESENTATION TO ROYAL BRITISH LEGION FOR POPPY APPEAL

A cheque for £100 was presented to members of the Crewkerne branch of the Royal British Legion for the Poppy Appeal 2017, at the Antiques Bazaar on Saturday. The money was raised by Keith Chinn of Unit 14, who for the fourth year running, offered to donate 10% of his sales during November and proprietor Anthony Bucke who once again matched the amount for every pound raised. It was accepted on behalf of the Royal British Legion by long serving branch members Danny Pettitt and June Webb. Danny and June have been the official poppy organisers for over 20 years. After 23 years of voluntary service to the Royal British Legion and to the Poppy Appeal as valued branch members, organisers and Remembrance wreath co-ordinators, they are looking forward to retiring later this year.
