Children at Jigsaw pre-school in Crewkerne welcomed in the Chinese New Year this week by learning the sign language for dog and taking part in themed art and craft sessions. They also enjoyed a special Year of the Dog storytime at their weekly Crocodile Rock session run by Kay Voizey, where they learnt some of the traditions of the Chinese New Year festival, listened to the story ‘Some Dogs Do’ and made lots of noise with instruments to bring them luck. The Chinese New Year of the Earth Dog which began on February 16th, is said to be a good year regarding finance and communication of all kinds.
