FORMER TWINNING CHAIRMAN AWARDED LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP

The former chairman of Crewkerne & District Twinning Association was awarded Lifetime Membership and Vice Presidency at the association’s coffee morning on Saturday. Cheryl Newman, who stepped down at last year’s AGM, was presented with the awards in recognition of the many years she has devoted to the association, especially as chairman for the past ten years. Cheryl was also presented with a thank you gift from the membership by current chairman Lorna Scudder. The social event which offered a delicious selection of home-made cakes and a raffle with many prizes, was held at Crewkerne Museum & Heritage Centre.

Members are looking forward to their next social event, which is also open to non-members, and will include a quiz and Ploughmans supper. The event will be held at the Tithe Barn in Merriott on Saturday March 17th at 7 pm. Entrance fee is £6 per person. Please book by March 10th by calling Lorna on 01460 72962.
