A showcase of 20 exhibitors, offering wedding services, delighted engaged couples and all other visitors to this year’s Wedding Fair at St Bartholomew’s Church. No wedding would be complete without transport for the bridal party and in the church grounds greeting visitors was Morning Star with stylish carriage from Star’s Carriages and proprietor Beverley Unsworth. The Wedding Fair banner was sponsored by MP Taxis whose director Michael Pattemore was happy to pose beside one of his executive vehicles with event organiser Ann Cossins and her granddaughter.
Exhibitors inside the 15th Century parish church included hair and beauty specialists Options and Lisa’s Hair, photography businesses Hannah Sharpe, Molly Catherine and Graham Hiscock of Studio H Photography, Laura and Ella from Twigs & Twine, celebration cakes with The Silver Cake and Viv’s Vision Cakes, Tea Set hire with Cute & Ditsy’s Jeanette Jordan, Bespoke bridal gowns 1 White Dress and designer Bridal, Prom and Ball dresses from Eleanor Florence, Bellissimo Boutiques range of new and preloved outfits for Mother of the bride/groom and essential accessories, Wayford vineyard’s award winning sparking wine, Yeovil Court Hotel, Rocrafts wedding stationery, favours, table decorations and hand-made jewellery and My Dentist offering a range of cosmetic dental treatments for a gleaming white smile.
Talented local singer Victoria Starr entertained visitors to the Wedding Fair with a medley of popular hits, including the soundtrack to the James Bond movie Skyfall, which she sang beautifully. The Wedding Fair raised around £700, which will be shared equally between St Bartholomew’s Church and the Mothers Union Overseas Fund. Organiser Ann Cossins said: “A big thank you to all the exhibitors for attending, especially the horse as it was really cold outside. There were 12 prizes handed out in the free draw, the atmosphere was lovely and all who attended seemed to enjoy it. Thank you to the ladies who manned the refreshment bar and to everyone who supported this year’s Wedding Fair.”
