The Crewkerne branch of the Royal British Legion would like to thank the Dubs at the Mill committee for inviting them to fundraise at the weekend Volkswagen Festival, held at Haselbury Mill. In selecting them as the chosen charity for the 2018 event, not only did it raise the awareness of what the Crewkerne branch do for the Royal British Legion but helped to raise £733.27 for the Poppy Appeal and £399.51 for the branch to support its local beneficiaries.
Chairman of the Crewkerne branch of the RBL, Tony Samuel said: “It was a brilliant weekend at the Mill. It may have been cold but we were overwhelmed with the warmth and kindness from the people who attended and donated to our cause. The Dubs committee worked really hard to make the event such a success and we wish to thank them for inviting us along.”
The chairman would also like to thank the lady who donated the money raised from her face painting stall over the weekend and Take A Peek Boutique for their kind donation.Tony Samuel said: “It is the generosity of these people that makes our work easier, so a big thank you to them.” On the Sunday, Crewkerne branch members joined forces with their affiliated Crewkerne Army Cadets who did a splendid job raising money and received a “well done lads” from the chairman. Also supporting the fundraising for the Royal British Legion were the Royal British Legion Riders Branch.
