The Junior 5K race on Sunday was won by Archie Tyler aged 14 from Wells City Harriers in an impressive time of 18.17. Second was Rocco Sughayer aged 10 and third Jacob Crabb aged 8 years. First home for the girls in the Junior 5K was Lara-May Deakin aged 11 in 26.06. Second was Poppy Shelvey aged 8, closely followed by her sister Eleanor Shelvey also aged 8 years. Despite the hot weather conditions, many of the junior runners completed the race with a strong finish to the line.
In the Fun Run over the same distance of 5K, first home for the men was Wayne Ross aged 42 from Purbeck Runners. Second was Henry Lawrence Napier aged 22 from Chalmers & Co and third 15 year old Bradley Mace from Stokes Partners LLP. The first lady to finish was Samantha Hollard aged 35 from Chalmers & Co in a time of 24.46. Second was Sarah Warren aged 52 and third Elizabeth Redman aged 24 years. The first of the female Rebel Runners to finish was Emma Withers in an impressive time of 29.16.
The Business Challenge was won by Gather Technology, whose team of three were Simon Hebditch, Najeeb Sughayer and Lucas Moore. Trophies for the Junior 5K and Business Challenge were presented by Joanne Butler of race sponsors Stokes Partners LLP. Stokes Partners also ran a cake stall outside of the town hall, with proceeds from the stall and race fees, going to the charity School In A Bag. The drinks station in Market Square was run by volunteers from Crewkerne Running Club, organisers of the annual 10K and 5K races in Crewkerne.
