Ferne Animal Sanctuary opened a charity shop in Crewkerne on Monday at 27 Market Square, the former home of HSBC. The shop in Crewkerne is the charity’s third shop in south Somerset, the others being in Chard and in Ilminster. The charity is hoping that the local community will support them with their custom and donations of pre-loved quality goods.
The charity would also welcome volunteers who have a few hours to spare, to help with all aspects of running the shop. Volunteering is a great way of meeting new people, making friends and improving key skills, with training provided. For more information please phone 01460 65214.
Elaine Hayes, CEO of Ferne Animal Sanctuary said: “The number of animals we rescue each year sadly seems to be on the increase and the revenue from our shops makes a big difference to the work we can continue to do with abandoned, neglected or unwanted animals within the local community.” Ferne Animal Sanctuary is a registered charity and relies on the support of the public and dedicated volunteers to continue its vital work. The charity has been caring for unwanted and abandoned animals for over 75 years. For more information please visit www.ferneanimalsanctuary.org
