A new Community Fund to help local projects and groups in the Crewkerne area has been announced by A E Stoodley & Son. A launch night for the community fund will take place in the Tithe Barn at Haselbury Mill on Wednesday July 4th from 7 pm until 9 pm. Members of the public and community groups are invited to attend.
Tracey Warren, Funeral Director at Stoodley & Son said: “Crewkerne has such a strong sense of community and we are so proud to be part of it. With this community fund we are able to give something back and help the smaller groups and projects. These groups sometimes struggle to find funds to keep going or to purchase much needed equipment.”
Along with the launch of the new community fund, Stoodley & Son will also be promoting their Grief Journey South Somerset bereavement support group, which they offer free of charge to local families. Tracey said: “The Grief Journey support group is going from strength to strength. It is now in its fifth year and we have been overwhelmed by the number of people joining our groups. We have been very lucky to work with some wonderful local people who help run the courses as volunteer facilitators. With the increase in need, the time is now right to recruit more facilitators to join our team and help enable us to continue the support we give. If anyone is interested, we invite them to come along for a chat with Colin and myself on the night.”
Refreshments will be provided at the community fund launch night with information displays and the opportunity to discuss funeral options in an informal and relaxed setting. Any local groups who wish to apply for assistance from the community fund but are unable to send a representative along to the launch evening, please apply in writing to Tracey Warren at Stoodley & Son.
