INNER WHEEL CLUB SUPPORT STROKE PREVENTION WITH BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS

The Inner Wheel Club of Crewkerne supported the Stroke Association by facilitating a morning event where shoppers could have their blood pressure checked. A spokesman for the Stroke Association said: “Around 40 per cent of all strokes could be prevented if people with high blood pressure were identified and treated.” The free blood pressure checks were offered in Crewkerne Conservative Club.

The Saturday morning event enabled those with busy life-styles and who work weekdays the opportunity to ‘Know their Blood Pressure’ while taking a break from the weekend shopping. The Stroke Association is also supported by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland and Rotarians David Fradgley and Nick Bacon from the Rotary Club of Crewkerne called into assist the ladies of the Inner Wheel at the annual walk-in blood pressure checks in the town centre.
