LOCAL U3A GROUP STREETS AHEAD ON DATA PROTECTION

Chair of Crewkerne & District U3A Sheila Seymour commented that the local group were: “Streets ahead in our understanding and implementation of GDPR,” after attending a U3A workshop in Wiltshire where data protection was on the agenda. The understanding and implementation of General Data Protection Regulation was one of the key issues considered at a Keeping It Legal workshop for representatives of U3A groups held in Rowde.

Sheila Seymour said: “Well done Crewkerne. Having taken part in the workshop I left impressed by the work already done by Anne Bright, the former chair of our committee in Crewkerne.” The workshop was led by Sophie Wellings, Advice and Volunteering Manager at the Third Age Trust. Other subjects covered in the workshop were safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion and insurance.
