Friends of Crewkerne Station enjoyed a themed supper at Sue’s Cafe in the old weighbridge. The four course evening meal, taken from a British Rail menu of the 1960’s, consisted of prawn cocktail or egg mayonnaise, chicken chasseur, strawberry flan and cheese and biscuits. Posters and an exhibition of the station’s history, which is still on display, helped to recreate the ambience of a British Rail cafe.

FOCS have been busy weeding at the station and tidying up on the unused platform, ready for judging in the South West In Bloom competition. Their new strimmer, presented by Crewkerne Gardening Club, has enabled them to cut back the lower edges of the bank on the passenger platform side without cutting back the wild flowers.
