Cancer Research UK have begun a campaign to bring Relay For Life back to Crewkerne for 2019, one year on from the incredible amount of £61,263 raised last year. Becky Trout, Local Fundraising Manager for CRUK said: “This amazing amount can support the cost of running Cancer Research UK’s Cancer Chat service for 5 months, helping thousands of people through very difficult times.”
Cancer Chat is a safe online space open to anyone to discuss any aspect of the disease, whether they are a patient, family member, friend or a survivor. Becky Trout said: “After a year off from the event, we would love to bring this Relay back to Crewkerne for 2019 and need amazing dedicated people to help us do this. We need your passion and skills as part of a committee that will plan, organise and promote a Relay For Life event, uniting Crewkerne in the fight against cancer.”
Relay For Life 2017 held a variety of fundraising events, including barn dances, car washes, a fashion show, numerous cake sales and competitions, leading up to the main 24 hour event on July 22nd and 23rd when 16 amazing teams, made up of friends, families and colleagues banded together to battle the rain over the weekend and walk all over cancer.
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through pioneering research. Every day 970 people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. CRUK have pledged not to stop until everyone with cancer will be told that they are going to be okay. Becky Trout said: “By joining the Relay For Life team you will bring us a step closer to the day when all cancers are cured.” Anyone who would like to be part of Relay For Life Crewkerne 2019, please don’t delay and contact Becky today or at your earliest convenience on 07766102379 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
