GEORGE REYNOLDS CENTRE TO BECOME NEW HOME FOR MONTHLY U3A MEETINGS

The George Reynolds Centre is to become the new home for the monthly meetings of Crewkerne & District U3A, beginning in October. Crewkerne U3A have 350 members and regularly attract 100 or more people to their monthly meetings. They are sad to be moving from Henhayes Community Centre who have been “great hosts” but decided they needed to change as the U3A continues to grow in membership.

The new venue at the GRC provides seating for 130 people. Crewkerne U3A chair Sheila Seymour said: “Their staff will set up the hall for us, make the tea and coffee and clear the chairs away afterwards and that will be a big help. Our audio visual equipment, which is very modern and good quality is already stored there and we believe this move will be a better experience for us and our speakers.” The U3A’s first speaker at their new venue on October 1st will be Richard Kay, pictures specialist at Lawrences Auctioneers who will give a talk on fakes and forgeries. The U3A’s monthly committee meetings will also be switching from Crewkerne Heritage Centre to the George Reynolds Centre in September.
