DISABLED FRIENDLY PICNIC BENCH PLACED AT BINCOMBE BEECHES

A new disabled friendly picnic bench has been placed at Bincombe Beeches. The wooden bench was donated by Crewkerne Action for the Disabled with full funding from the Somerset Tablers Lodge. It was made to certain specifications, under the advice of Katy Pritchard, chair of Bincombe management committee.

Chairman of Crewkerne Action for the Disabled (CAD) David James thanked the Worshipful Master Clifford House of Somerset Tablers Lodge for their charitable gift. Members of the Ilminster based Freemasons Lodge include several Crewkerne men who were previously with Crewkerne Round Table before it disbanded. Mr Clifford House was visiting Bincombe for the first time and was amazed at the far reaching views from its summit and its natural beauty.

The picnic bench is easily accessible for everyone to enjoy when taking a break from walking around the nature reserve and is situated close to a popular view point. Crewkerne Action for the Disabled acts as a medium through which the requirements of people with disabilities can be communicated to the community, working alongside local authorities and other organisations, to help people from Crewkerne and the surrounding area. The group meet at Henhayes Community Centre every two months. Their next meeting is on Wednesday September 19th at 7 pm. New members are always welcome. For more information, please contact David James on 07971415762.
