This Saturday sees the return of the monthly Crewkerne Farmers Market from 9 am until 1 pm outside of Henhayes Community Centre. With the arrival of Autumn, an array of seasonal vegetables and late fruits will be available from the Bower Hinton Produce stall. The farmers market is pleased to welcome artisan cider producers Dorset Nectar and Pretty Little Bakers, making their market debut with delicious cakes and biscuits. Clayford Farm will also be joining the market with their wide range of chicken sausages in addition to regular producers at the market selling quality food and drink. Children are invited to come along with their families to search for Monty the market mouse who will be hiding somewhere.

Friends of Crewkerne Parish Church present an evening of Jazz with Rose Silk and Anthony Stanbridge, supported by Jerry on flute and Simon on double bass at St Bartholomew’s Church on Friday October 5th at 7.30 pm. Back by popular demand, the quartet of musicians offer another special evening of outstanding jazz, including many of the great standards of our time. Anthony Stanbridge was an Orchestral Arranger for Jack Jones, Diana Dors and for many Hollywood movies, while Rose Silk has played jazz piano on the international scene. Tickets at £13 each are available from Crewkerne LIC at the town hall and at £15 on the door which opens at 7 pm. Under 18’s are welcome to attend for free.

Stall holders are invited to apply for a pitch at Crewkerne Christmas Market which takes place on Saturday December 8th from 10 am – 3 pm around the town hall in Market Square. Last year’s event was hailed a great success by traders and shoppers, despite the ice and cold weather conditions. Over 30 stalls offering a range of gift ideas, decorations, cards, food and drink attended with Crewkerne Crewners singing Christmas carols and bringing a festive atmosphere to the whole event.
