CREWKERNE END OF SUMMER SHOW RAISES £1,800 FOR CHARITY

Crewkerne End Of Summer Show has raised £1,800 for charity. The amount will be donated to St Margaret’s Hospice and Alzheimer’s Research UK. The one day event which included a Horse & Pony Show and Companion Dog Show was organised by Jess Dalwood and her mother Hazel. It was held by kind permission of Mr and Mrs L Broom at the show site in Clapton, opposite Netherhay Chapel.

New to the Horse & Pony Show this year was the TREC class where competitors horses skills and obedience were tested over 10 obstacles.Other classes included novice and junior show jumping, open show jumping under BS rules, Gymkhana races, dressage and a section for the prettiest mare and the horse with the most luscious locks which was won by Mr Coco ridden by Charlotte with Bramble ridden by Abigail in second place, featured in our photo with Crewkerne Lions Rodney Dalwood, Margaret Lamb and Kirsty MacDonald.

The Companion Dog Show, held under Kennel Club regulations included pedigree and novelty classes. The organisers of the show would like to thank all of the competitors, spectators and sponsors and the Lions Club of Crewkerne for once again supporting the event by providing marshals and running the food and drinks marquee on the day.
