A free interactive information session to learn how dementia affects a person and what anyone can do to make a difference takes place at Henhayes Community Centre on Wednesday October 10th at 6 pm. Become A Dementia Friend, an Alzheimer’s Society initiative is being presented by Mr Ashley Gray, director of Home Instead Senior Care. The company that is based in Yeovil also covers Crewkerne and surrounding villages.
As specialists in non-medical care of older people in their own homes, the company’s Alzheimer’s and Dementia CARE training has been designed and developed by experts in the field of dementia and ageing. Training follows an innovative technique to help improve the quality of life of people with the condition. Anyone of any age can become a Dementia Friend and join more than two million others in taking action. Every action counts from being more patient in a shop queue to campaigning for change. Advanced bookings for the free session in Crewkerne are required and can be made by phoning the Home Instead Yeovil office on 01935 577030 or online through www.dementiafriends.org.uk
