A Grand Beetle Drive in aid of Rotary International Fund takes place at Crewkerne Conservative Club on Thursday October 25th at 7.30 pm and is open to members and non-members of the club. For those who may not know what a beetle drive is, it is a fun and social game played with dice. Players sit around tables in groups of four. Each player needs to throw a six to begin and draw the beetle’s body. The other numbers on the die 5,4,3,2 and 1 correspond to the beetle’s head, wings, legs, antennas and eyes. The first player to draw a complete beetle shouts “beetle.” The game stops, the points are added up and the highest scorers from each table move to the next table in a clock-wise direction and the lowest scorers in an anti-clockwise direction and the next game begins. At the end of the evening, prizes are awarded to the the highest scorers at the beetle drive. The fundraising event will include a raffle, refreshments and a licensed bar.
