Children had great fun having their faces painted by Kerry Peters and colouring pictures with Helen and Hannah Osborne at the charity table top/craft sale in aid of Melanoma UK. Although footfall at the event in the George Reynolds Centre was lower than expected, £133.74 was raised for the charity in memory of Dawn Best. Dawn Best sadly passed away a year ago from the disease, aged 50 years. For many years she worked at the Jigsaw Playschool and was a great friend to many in Crewkerne.
The amount raised at the table top/craft sale has been added to proceeds from yoga and cream tea events and other donations to bring a running total of £218.74 for Melanoma UK. Hannah Osborne said: “Despite a poor turnout at our recent event, we were pleased with the amount raised in memory of my auntie Dawn. Thank you to all who came along and supported us, helped out on the day with the teas and cakes, the stall holders who attended and the GRC for allowing us to use the room. We are still thinking of ideas to raise more money for this worthy charity.”
