HARRY POTTER FANS HAVE FUN AT CREWKERNE LIBRARY

Children from eight to 12 years old who are fans of Harry Potter enjoyed becoming Hogwarts students at a half-term activity in Crewkerne Library. The students who were dressed for the part were greeted by popular character Professor Dolores Umbridge, the half blood witch at the Ministry of Magic. While being quizzed on their Harry Potter knowledge, the students made golden snitches, chocolate frogs in boxes, drank butter-beer and ate pumpkin cake. There was also a Harry Potter themed hunt around the library which ran all week not just on the day of the themed workshop.

Special activities continue at the library on Saturday November 10th from 10 am until 12 noon, with An Introduction To Family History by historian Ted Udall from Somerset & Dorset Family History Society. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is keen to learn how to research their family history and is not sure how to start. Prior booking is required as places are limited but tickets are free.

On Saturday November 10th, 17th and December 1st from 12 pm until 1.30 pm, all are welcome to attend the Christmas Tree Decorating workshops, to help with the library’s entry in the Christmas Tree Festival. Snacks and hot chocolate will be provided.
