MYSTERY COACH TOUR KEEPS CLUB MEMBERS GUESSING

A mystery coach tour for Crewkerne & District U3A’s Serendipity Club kept members guessing. The tour organised by Jan Simpson of the U3A club, left Crewkerne with 35 members on board. The coach driver changed directions many times to keep the suspense of the tour’s final destination going. Jan suggested it may be Paignton in South Devon but realised she was out by about 150 miles, when the coach reached Hereford for lunch.

After crossing into Wales, the group stayed a couple of nights in Porthcawl and visited Swansea and Tenby. The journey home included a stop at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff. The irony was, that after a round trip of 500 miles, the road into Merriott was closed and the coach driver had to make a detour to get everyone home. Jan Simpson said: “There was no mystery about the success of the trip. We all had a great time and I am taking bookings now for the next trip to Bognor Regis in May 2019.”
