Following the public consultation on the proposed residential development off Station Road, in the Old Stagecoach Inn earlier this month, a set of the information boards will be on display in the LIC at the town hall from Monday November 26th. The initial development proposals for the arable land site, include up to 350 dwellings of which at least 122 will be affordable homes, a new public car park to serve Crewkerne Railway Station with direct link to the northern platform, areas of public open space, integrated pedestrian and cycle networks to provide connectivity between the town centre and railway station and a substantial landscape planting scheme and bio diversity enhancement.
The agents Greenslade Taylor Hunt are inviting views from the community before a planning application is submitted to South Somerset District Council. The site, referred to as CREW4 is identified in the Councils’ Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment as having future development potential to meet Crewkerne’s long-term housing needs. Interested parties can also see the plans and complete a feedback form on the proposals by visitinghttps://gthdevelopment.wixsite.com/crewkerne
