A Japanese Pop-Up Takeaway will be open for business on several dates in January at Barrett Bros in Market Street. Kinori run by professional chef and company director Hideki Koike will be serving popular Japanese street food from the small retail unit next to the award winning family butchers shop. Menu options include Japanese mild chicken curry, sticky rice, pickled red cabbage, sweet soy and ginger sauce, Udon noodles with toasted sesame, Nikuman steamed pork and buns with Ankake sauce. The Japanese takeaway opens for business on Wednesday January 9th at 11 am. It will also be open from 11 am – 3 pm on Wednesdays 16th, 23rd and 30th, Thursdays 10th,17th and 31st, Friday 18th and Tuesday 22nd. Discounts will be offered for Barrett Bros customers.

Ponds & Wildlife is the topic of the talk by guest speaker Jane Pearce at the January meeting of Crewkerne Gardening Club on Thursday 10th at 7.30 pm in Henhayes Community Centre. Crewkerne Gardening Club meet on the second Thursday of each month, excluding August when the club hosts its annual Flower Show and days when the group is away on outings.
