MUSEUM REQUESTS GRAMMAR SCHOOL MEMORABILIA AND STORIES

Although months away before Crewkerne & District Museum opens its door for the 2019 season on April 6th, researchers are planning the first special exhibition of the year which will look at the history of Crewkerne School, the Grammar School whose foundation began in 1499 and today exists as Wadham Community School.

Museum Administrator Janet Harris said: “The story is fascinating and many people may have items of interest from their school days at the Grammar School, which would make welcome additions to the exhibition.” The Old Crewkernians who hold their Founder’s Day in July are working with the museum to provide an interesting exhibition. Anyone who would like to loan material or add their story to the Grammar School exhibition can email crewkernemuseum@hotmail.co.uk

New volunteers are always welcome to join the Steward’s rota or help at the museum in some other way. To arrange a visit to talk about volunteering, please email the museum. More information can be found on the museum’s website www.crewkernemuseum.co.uk
