LOCAL SINGER ENTERTAINS VISITORS WITH GOLDEN OLDIES

Local singer Victoria Starr entertained visitors to the Open Afternoon at Henhayes Centre with a medley of golden oldies. Everyone enjoyed singing along to the hits of yesteryear with a few people even taking to the dance floor. The social event organised by the board of volunteer trustees at the centre, showcased the activities available and canvassed opinion on relaunching Playing Card & Board Games. The weekly session which previously proved to be very popular, will run on a Friday morning, if there is enough interest to run it again.

Henhayes Centre is open to everyone Mondays to Fridays from 9 am until 4 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am until 12 noon. Tea and coffee is always available and hot lunches served weekdays with a Chef’s Special roast lunch monthly and a Breakfast/Brunch available on the last Saturday of every month. Lunches need to be pre-booked by 10.30 am on the day.

Regular activities at Henhayes Centre include the Monday Memory Group and Tuesday Welcome Group for which transport is available if required. Other weekly activities include physio fit, over 50’s keep fit, Pioga, computer club, knitting/sewing group, Bingo and short mat bowls.
