Crewkerne’s community cinema Film Crew present Hotel Salvation on Friday March 8th at 7.30 pm in the auditorium at Wadham School. Filmed in Varanasi by the banks of the sacred river The Ganges, the film presents a potentially sombre subject with humour and wisdom. 77 year old Daya played by Lalit Behl travels across India to the holy city with his sceptical yet respectful son Rajiv. Daya is aware that he has not long left in this world and the hotel where they stay is known as a sanctuary where the elderly can reside while they await their departure. A poetic portrait of modern India, the film always presents its main theme with humour and an infectious sense of optimism. Doors open at 7 pm. Visitors may attend an individual film show without needing to book in advance for £6. For membership enquiries please contact Joan Clemow on 01935 822656.
