Crewkerne Museum reopens on Saturday April 6th at 10 am with the first special exhibition of the new season focusing on the story of Crewkerne Grammar School. Researchers have been busy over the winter months planning the exhibition. The volunteers at the museum have worked with the Old Crewkernians to provide an interesting display on the history of Crewkerne School, whose foundation began in 1499.

The new season of activities for children at Crewkerne Museum in the Heritage Centre begins with looking for chicks that are hidden in the galleries and a craft drop-in workshop, to make Easter and spring decorations, on Wednesday April 17th, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th. The children’s activities are free with no need to book beforehand. Crewkerne Museum is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am – 4 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am until 1 pm, throughout the 2019 season. Entry costs £1 for adults, children and students admitted for free.

St Bartholomew’s First School Easter Hop takes place on Saturday April 6th from 1.30 pm until 4.30 pm. The popular annual event, organised by the Friends of the School Association (FSA) will include egg and spoon races and the spectacular Easter Bonnet Parade, with prizes awarded to those whose decorated hats are judged in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Other fun activities on offer at the event are face painting, quizzes and crafts. Entry to the Easter Hop costs £3 per child with free admission to children under the age of three years and to adults.

Honeymoon Planners will be joining the professional line-up of exhibitors at this year’s Crewkerne Wedding Fair. Andy and Nicki from Not Just Travel – Lets Go, make planning a honeymoon stress free, using their knowledge and expertise to create the perfect trip away.

The annual wedding fair in Crewkerne takes place at St Bartholomew’s Church on Sunday April 7th from 11 am until 3 pm. Admission is free and live entertainment will be provided by Crewkerne’s very own star, talented singer Victoria Starr. Proceeds from Crewkerne Wedding Fair will be donated to three charitable causes, St Bartholomew’s Church, Mothers Union and Crewkerne Action for the Disabled.
