Award winning crime writer Diane Janes is coming to Crewkerne, to present six real life murder trials and ask the question, Guilty or Not Guilty? In You The Jury, which is being organised by Crewkerne & District U3A, Diane will present evidence over three days, from half a dozen murder trials that took place between 1900 and 1975. There will be two different trials on each day, with one case in the morning and another in the afternoon. After each session the public will act as the jury and be asked, on the evidence heard, to reach their verdict.
Writer Diane Janes, who lives in Devon, was presented with the Red Herring award by the Crime Writers Association in 2012. Her seventh novel, A Stroke Of Bad Luck, will be published in June. Tickets for You The Jury, which takes place on May 14th, 15th and 16th at the George Reynolds Centre, cost £20 per day which includes lunch and are available from the LIC in the town hall, to the general public as well as U3A members. U3A chairperson Sheila Seymour said: “We believe this is something the whole town will enjoy, so we have decided not to limit the sale of tickets to just U3A members.”
