Crewkerne Wedding Fair attracted more visitors this year and raised £800 for charity. The annual event in the 15th Century parish church of St Bartholomew’s, which provides a spectacular and historical venue, was organised by Ann Cossins. Charitable donations were extended to a third worthy cause this year, with St Bartholomew’s Church, the Mothers Union and Crewkerne Action for the Disabled (CAD) all receiving a share of the proceeds.
Wedding fair organiser, Ann Cossins said: “This year we wanted to support a local group that does a lot for the community. As our aim is always to provide an all inclusive venue and we are very proud that St Bartholomew’s Church offers level access to wheelchair users, we chose CAD as our third charitable cause.” Local businesses that offer professional services for couples before, during and after the wedding, were on display at the wedding fair.
Exhibitors were: Twigs & Twine, The Silver Cake, Eleanor Florence, Studio H photography, Candy Bees, Keefikus entertainment & Keanu Drone, Vocal Eyes photography, Lisa’s Wedding Hair & Make-Up, Eden photographics, Options Hair & Beauty, Not Just Travel Lets Go, the Old Bridge wedding reception venue, MP Taxis, Yeovil Court Hotel, Carousel Art & Crafts, Charlotte Elizabeth Aesthetics, Vicki Stanners PT, Chard 1610 and Victoria Starr who entertained visitors with a medley of popular songs.
Ann Cossins said: Everyone enjoyed it and although it had gone quieter after about 1.30 pm, there was definitely more footfall this year. We raised £800 for charity, so a big thank you to all who came along, to the ladies from the Mothers Union who helped with refreshments and to our wonderful exhibitors.
